Shaun Cooney

Shaun is a business technologist who’s spent much of his career in government, defence & telecommunications, where he has experience in cybersecurity, resilience, data and product development leadership roles. Until recently, Shaun was the CTO for Security Engineering in the UK Government, responsible for all of the engineering for internal and external capabilities used by the department.

Shaun is Splunk’s Field CTO and Strategy Advisor for EMEA. He spends most of his time helping organisations through their transformations and large change programmes, helping them to think more strategically or differently about their use of data and technology to validate and implement their business strategies. He is not a salesperson and has no interest in selling customers ‘more Splunk’. Instead, he’s able to think strategically and vendor agnosticically to help organisations achieve their business goals - leaving market research and product selection to others.

Yassar provides thought leadership within the full spectrum of Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain, through solutions, strategies, and technological capabilities.

John Dee

Served for 35 years in the British Army's Intelligence Corps before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2020. During that time he served in Northern Ireland, the Balkans, the Gulf, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

After leaving the Army he joined Somerford Associates in a new post as the Strategy Director, a role that sees him straddle the public and private sector through senior stakeholder engagement, translating strategic business risk to current and emerging technologies. Whilst he does not profess to be a cyber SME, he does know the importance of information and its criticality to support the decision-maker.
