About the Workshop:
Join us in an engaging Terraform hands-on workshop focused on minimising cloud waste. Gain control over your cloud spending through fast-paced, on-demand infrastructure consumption models driven by the cloud. With the continuous shift to consumption-based cost models for infrastructure and operations, you'll learn how to pay only for what you use and avoid unnecessary provisioning expenses.
Discover the importance of continuous governance and optimisation to prevent cloud waste accumulation. No prior experience is required to attend this beginner-friendly workshop.
Agenda:
• An introduction to Terraform concepts, including:.
○ Infrastructure as Code, and how to collaborate effective in its production
○ How Terraform can help manage IaC, and demonstrate compliance
○ What is meant by self-service infrastructure, and its benefits
• Hands-on, browser-based lab, on the various Terraform workflows, including:
○ The command-line (CLI) driven workflow; and
○ The VCS or 'Git-Ops' driven workflow
• The many integrations with the Terraform Cloud Software as a Service platform, including:
○ Cost estimation; and Policy as Code checks with Sentinel and Open Policy Agent

About the Workshop:
Explore how Vault can safeguard your systems without becoming a single point of failure. Learn about Vault's high availability (HA) and toolset features to ensure robust protection. In this session, you'll gain insights into providing, securing, connecting, and running any infrastructure for any application.
Discover the potential applications of HashiCorp Vault. No prior experience is required to attend this beginner-friendly workshop.
Agenda:
• An introduction to Vault concepts, including:
○ Auth methods
○ Secrets engines; and the role of Vault policies in authorisation
• Hands-on, browser-based labs on:
:
○ Configuring and generating dynamic database secrets; and further securing that database data using Vault's Encryption as a Service
Workshops Requirements
Before attending our HashiCorp Terraform and/or Vault Fundamentals Workshops:
• You will need to be on a laptop that can connect to MS Teams. Many people can use their work laptops but we advise you to try them beforehand

• We want to provide you with the best possible experience during our workshops. That's why we ask that you join us at the start of the session to participate in hands-on labs.
• Please be respectful and attentive during the workshop in order to get the most out of the session. Our workshop hosts are there to guide you through the labs and answer any questions you may have.
• After completing the workshop and hands-on labs, you will be eligible to receive certification for your participation.
• If you did not complete the hands-on labs, we will ask if you would like to join a future workshop to complete the labs and become eligible for certification.
