Splunk Intro-Techture Workshop | Public Sector Apprentice Edition
22nd January 2020, 9:30am – 14:30pm
Apprentices and Trainee employees are welcome to join us in this Public Sector focused workshop to find out about the Splunk platform for machine data—the digital exhaust created by the systems, technologies and infrastructure powering modern businesses—to address big data, IT operations, security and analytics use cases.
The insights gained from machine data can support any number of use cases across an organisation and can also be enriched with data from other sources. The enterprise machine data fabric shares and provides access to machine data across the organisation to facilitate these insights – Operational Intelligence.
This workshop will also cover Splunk Architecture, by taking a look ‘under the hood’ of a clustered and single Splunk instance at Forwarding, Indexing & Searching tiers as well as the instances that manage them. Master the back end of the Splunk UI and understand all the moving pieces that make up Splunk.
■ Introduction to Splunk & basic dive into Splunk Architecture – how each works
■ Data input and index methods, and how Splunk indexes data
■ Searching how searches hang together, how to build searches up
■ More advanced searching, geolocation maps and more
