Big Data is a term that doesn’t have a precise meaning, it evolves depending on who is using it. Our view is that Big Data is a large volume of unstructured or structured data that could be useful for current and future investigation. As for what volume is needed to qualify as Big Data, after speaking with many customers, each Company seems to have their own view on how much data is required, often dependent on the size of the Company itself.
We are focused on two sections of this market,
- working with customers who feed their data into Splunk
- Hadoop users who wish to use their existing AD structure to provide secure access to their production environment, and those who wish to easily interrogate their Hadoop cluster with Splunk’s Hunk.
